Peter and Alex is a graphic novel. By means of graphics and dialogue the story explores the nature of sexual abuse and its effects on young lives. The novel also raises the theological tension between an abuser seeking forgiveness and a victim who has no opportunity to seek healing. There is also a question about the nature of the after life. The author’s own Christian faith motivates the story and seeks answers to the theological problems. Her responses are graphically and memorably illustrated in the use she makes of her artistic skill. The graphic novel is both disturbing and illuminating and shows a keen perception.
The book is illustrated in full colour throughout and attractively produced. |
